Our History
P & L Heat Treating, Inc. has been located in Youngstown, Ohio for over 38 years. It was first incorporated in 1978 by President William H. Pociask and began production in 1979. P & L started out in a 2500 square foot building with only two high heat austenitizing furnaces and two tempering furnaces, used for heating treating H-13 aluminum extrusion dies only. By 1982 additional building space and equipment were added, doubling the company size.

Today P & L Heat Treating operates out of a  25,000 sq foot building with 16 employees and state of the art furnaces and testing equipment, including four 12 bar vacuum furnaces, one tempering furnace, four endothermic gas high heat furnaces, nine convection tempering furnaces used for tempering and five controlled gas nitriding furnaces.

P & L Heat Treating performs a wide variety of heat treatment services. We are specialist in heat treatment of H-13, D-2, D-7, A-2, S-7, high speed steel, austenitic stainless, and alloy steels. Our controlled gas nitriding service has proven to extend the life of extrusion and forging dies by as much as three times the non-nitrided.

Our commitment to customer service and quality is always our highest priority. We are ISO9001:2015 certified and a member of MTI (Metal Treating Institute).
